More Info: The music of The Grateful Dead transcends time, age and space. Their high energy, soul touching jams and family like environment was a core part of the counter-culture experience. Over the past 16 years Dead Sessions has grown to become one of the favorite Grateful Dead experiences in the Northeast. Playing since 1998, the collective is known for their authentic but unique renditions of Grateful Dead classics, thick with heartfelt jams that make the most jaded Deadhead rejoice. Dead Sessions is composed of a rotating cast of musicians throughout the country, but the roots of origin are easily traced to the Green Mountain State. With an unmasked joy that pours off the stage and blurs any boundaries with their audience, the Sessions are beloved from both the casual fan to the dedicated Terrapin warrior. Dead Sessions have included members of Trey Anastasio Band, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Grippo Funk Band, Assembly of Dust, Raq, Gordon Stone, Doug Perkins, Turkey Bouillon Mafia, Seth Yacovone Band, Liquid Dead and more. Special guests have ranged from your neighbor “down the farm” to Mike Gordon of Phish.

At only 20 years of age, Marcus King’s dazzling musical ability is evident throughout The Marcus King Band, the young phenom’s 2nd full-length LP and first for Fantasy Records. Operating within the fiery brand of American roots music that King calls, “soul-influenced psychedelic southern rock,” the album highlights King’s gorgeous, rough-hewn vocals, soaring guitar work and heartfelt songwriting all amidst a group of masterful musicians who, together, are quickly becoming one of the country’s most sought after live acts.

Holly Bowling

Date: Saturday, December 31st, 2016
Time: 3:00pm Doors 4:00pm Show
Venue: The Cutting Room
Ticket Price: $15-$20 (purchase here)

More Info: Holly Bowling is a classically trained pianist who began playing piano at the age of five. There’s one major distinction, however, that separates her from other similarly studied musicians. That is Holly’s devotion to the legendary rock band Phish. Having attended over 300 shows by the Burlington-based quartet, she became obsessed by their famous rendition of “Tweezer” from Lake Tahoe on July 31, 2013. It led Holly to transcribe this 37-minute improvisational masterpiece note-for- note and arrange it for solo piano. The process, both painstaking and fulfilling, inspired her to transform other Phish songs and well-known live jams into solo piano interpretations. Using classical piano technique to reinterpret these jamband luminaries, Holly’s live performances infuse new with old, tradition with surreal, and creates a concert experience like nothing else in the music world.
