Funk Fest 2012

Saturday, June 2, Funk Fest ft. Frank Ocasio, Yellowcake, Funktional Flow & Atlas.
Headlining Frank Ocasio, the former guitarist and songwriter of The Authority, Ocasio blends his funk guitar riffs into mixture of Rick James, Hendrix, and James Brown. This New York state native made his debut at Sullivan Hall in April of 2012 and is back for more! Joining him for this evening of funk is a 7 piece group that aims to put a global pulse on the NYC music scene. To listen to Frank Ocasio and get free downloads, visit his Sound Cloud account.
Yellowcake draws music influences from their diverse cultural backgrounds but brings it all back to a funky groove. Similar to diversity in sound, Funktional Flow draws sounds from bands like Moe., Talking Heads, Sublime, Grateful Dead, and Phish. The band cultivates inspiration from such bands to create their own music which draws in fans from their hometown of Buffalo, NY, to Pennsylvania.
