Joe Krown Trio featuring Walter “Wolfman” Washington & Russell Batiste
There’s an amazing night of music in the making at Sullivan Hall on May 27th. Featured act, Joe Krown Trio, is comprised of New Orleans Legends Joe Krown (Hammond B-3), Walter “Wolfman” Washington (guitar &vocals) & Russell Batiste (drums & background vocals). The group has been featured on HBO’s original Series Treme and is well known for their nearly four year long Sunday residency at a local New Orleans nightclub, the Maple Leaf Bar. The combination of the soulful vocals of Walter Washington with the big sound of the Hammond B-3 and the masterful drumming skills of Russell Batiste Jr. has developed into a sound all its own.
The Trio will be followed by New York City’s funk masters MiloZ. Frontman Milo is known for his amazing stage presence and ability to orchestrate his bands’ excellent musicianship into an all out dance funk frenzy. Openers for the night will be Brooklyn based up and comers Outer Borough Brass Band.
