Greensky Bluegrass returns to Sullivan Hall next week to promote their new album, “Handguns.” This summer, the group performed at a number of festivals, including Bum-bershoot, Bonnaroo and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass where they electrified crowds with their (mostly) acoustic Progressive Bluegrass.
This time around will be perhaps their most special performance at Sullivan Hall to date. Why? Because they will be joined on stage by Todd Scheaffer, of Railroad Earth! Along with one of the biggest names in the Jam Band, Bluegrass and Folk worlds, Greensky Bluegrass will certainly make you dance as they utilize traditional bluegrass instruments — dobro, banjo, guitar, upright bass and mandolin.
Do not think this is ma and pa’s old school Bluegrass band, though! Greensky Bluegrass is far from the Musical “Rewind Button”.“Handguns” is an expression of what separates their music from the rest of the genre. Check them out at GreenskyBluegrass.com.
