John Kadlecik, singer and guitarist for Furthur and founding member of Dark Star Orchestra, has been writing songs and playing in original bands since the late ’80s and now brings his latest project, the John K. Band, to Sullivan Hall for their Big Apple debut. Not a Grateful Dead tribute, but deeply informed by the spirit and style of the Dead, Jerry Garcia Band, and modern contemporaries such as Phish and String Cheese Incident, the John K. Band performs new and old original songs along with a gamut of covers from the obvious to the obscure on its continuing mission to open hearts, shake bodies, and blow minds.
