8:00pm

Former bassist of the legendary Meters,George Porter Jr. is a New Orleans native with a gift in playing funk. George Porter along with his long term project the Runnin’ Pardners pull together the classic New Orleans sound and bring it across the United States while on tour.

Porter has worked with artists such as Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffet, and Patti LaBelle. He has also shared the stage with Warren Haynes, Eric Krasno, and Bill Kreutzmann

With Trombone Shorty performing a free show at BAM that ends at 10pm, there is plenty of time for New Orleans music fans to make their way to Sullivan Hall for the 2 set marathon that George Porter Jr. will undoubtedly put on. Expect special guests!

Sharing just as much enthusiasm as their fans do during a show, Sol Driven Train uses their energy and passion to convey their southern rock and swampy funk music to the masses. Inspiration comes from John Prine and the Grateful Dead. They are defined as “Americana Roots Rock” and introduce guitar, trombone, saxophone, bass, and vocals.
