Win Free Tickets to See Live Dead ’69 at The Hall at MP on Friday, 5/12
Next Friday, May 12th, Live Dead ’69 is slated to perform at The Hall at MP in Williamsburg at 7:30pm EST (6:30pm EST doors). The band is a supergroup comprised of Tom Constanten (the original Grateful Dead pianist), Mark Karan (RatDog & The Other Ones guitarist), Slick Aguilar (Jefferson Starship, David Crosby lead guitarist), Robin Sylvester (RatDog bassist), and Jay Lane (RatDog & Primus drummer), and are planning to perform the Grateful Dead’s legendary live album Live / Dead in its entirety for the very first time ever, anywhere. Constanten was the keyboard player on Live / Dead, and with an all-star cast supporting his piano playing, this is a night any Dead Head in the right state of mind would never dream of missing.
Deemed the seventh greatest live album all time by Rolling Stone, Live/ Dead has been called “the greatest advertisement for a band’s in-concert capabilities recorded to date, [where] the Dead proved themselves both serious avant-gardists and impeccable roots revisionists — and spent the rest of their career reaffirming it onstage.” To get a flavor for the songs you’ll hear in next Friday’s set, below find the track list for Live / Dead, as well as a YouTube player for the entire record.
