Weekly Artist Spotlight: Funky Dawgz Brass Band

Keeping the big brass band feel alive at more and more festivals and clubs, Funky Dawgz Brass Band has worked their way into being one of the most sought-after brass bands in the live music and festival scene. Hailing from Connecticut, but embodying the spirit and style of New Orleans, Funky Dawgz play a contagious mix of traditional New Orleans R&B, hip-hop, funk, and original music all with a funky brass twist.

After touring internationally and working their ways into all different sects of the live music scene, Funky Dawgz Brass Band has made a name for themselves, even earning a spot on Live For Live Music’s Brass Bands You Need To Know. Playing sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden as the horn section for Dispatch, to closing out The Peach Music Festival, their performances have found their spot as an irreplaceable brass section throughout the live music scene.

Having played on stage with notorious acts such as; Dispatch, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, We The Kings, Snarky Puppy, The Soul Rebels, Lettuce, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Twiddle, Turkuaz, Kung Fu, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Ryan Montbleau, and Glen David Andrews, and more to come, Funky Dawgz Brass Band has earned their reputation as versatile and competent players.
