Hope

It will be impossible to unravel all the damage that’s been done to the country in these last 8 years, but Barack Obama has given the country and the World a feeling of hope that he will make a difference. A difference from the partisanship, animosity, alienation, fear and desperation we’ve felt for years now. In the most important election in most of our lifetimes, optimism beat out fear. After 9-11, no sacrifice was asked of us. We were asked to ‘go out and shop.’ Now the nation has come together once more, but we can’t just expect that Obama will solve all crises himself. He never said he would. From the beginning, he’s asked for the nation to come together, to volunteer, to help others, to make sacrifices — a call for action. What you decide to do is up to you, but it’s time for all of us to come together and serve our country, under a leader that for the first time in many of our lives, we can truly believe in.
